The Comparative Social Policy Group aims to support the analysis and comparison of specific areas of social policy (particularly relating to early childhood and all areas of education, health and social work) and its enactment within and across different countries or systems. We are interested in promoting interdisciplinary research and international collaborations.
currently undertaking a wide variety of comparative work. Cross-national
comparisons include collaborations with colleagues in a number of European
countries, most recently Denmark, Finland and Germany, to consider various
aspects of early years provision and schooling. Other projects, however,
involve within-country comparisons; a number, for example, look specifically at
how different social groups experience nursing and social work.
