Plymouth is more than just an institution of learning; it is a supportive community that encourages students to reach their full potential.
A foundation year bridged the gap to taking the next step to university. I was able to be mentored and to work on my communication skills. When I progressed to the first year, I felt far more confident and prepared. It doesn’t matter what your background is, if you want to go into medicine and make a difference, you can achieve it.
Clinical Skills is where I feel most like a doctor. We learn practical skills of medicine, such as taking blood, patient history and examining patients. The team is supportive and there are excellent simulated patients who dedicate their time to provide you with a comfortable and educational environment to learn in.
The Life Sciences Resource Centre (LSRC) doesn't just feel like a teaching session space; it feels like a space that belongs to us... I especially love to use this space as positive study environment, where my peers and I can teach, revise and practice skills with good company. If I ever need to be productive, I find that the LSRC is one of the best locations to do this.
