Media arts and film and television production

Contemporary media and arts industries are fluid and dynamic, drawing on and combining a range of traditions and practices - this is an arena that never stops evolving and changing.  By providing our students with the confidence of a wide set of skills from which to develop their own creative voice, we equip our graduates well for the challenges and opportunities of the future.

Embracing video, photography, sound, animation and a range of digital media, students can choose to specialise in one of these areas or work across these disciplines to develop their own unique path, combining one or more approach.

The programmes emphasise the value of learning by practical investigation informed by critical understanding.

Creative media international

We love Plymouth, but we also love to explore. On the course, there are always opportunities to broaden your experience of creative media in different environments and cultures.

International trip

Each year creative media takes its second year students on an international trip as part of their studies. These trips are often set to coincide with important festivals, such as Transmediale in Berlin, and act as a valuable primary research opportunity.  Students celebrate their research and experiences in a pop up exhibition when they return.

International exchange

Creative media is part of both Erasmus and ISEP international exchange programmes with five bespoke exchange agreements across Europe, and two in the USA.
