Featured module: Mathematics

This first semester module in the foundation year gives you all the tools you need from the foundations of mathematics to be able to tackle problems with confidence. The basics of scientific notation and algebra are treated, both of which are absolutely vital to pursuing further study from year 1 onwards. Various mathematical and scientific techniques are built, progressing to approximately AS level Mathematics standard and finishing the module with topics such as sequences and series, and vectors. This then enables you to begin the second semester follow-up modules, concentrating on more in-depth techniques.
