Work by our postgraduate students forms the backbone of research throughout the Faculty of Science and Engineering.
This one-day event aims to celebrate and showcase postgraduate research, as well as providing a forum for informal networking and discussion across the faculty.
The event also includes lunch and refreshments, a drinks reception and the opportunity to win prizes for what are judged as the best presentations.
By its very nature, this is an interdisciplinary event, where Postgraduate Researchers from our faculty will present their research to an audience largely composed of non-expert peers.
Sharing ideas and research across specialisms and departments is important for all researchers. It can lead to broader collaborative projects, provide positive and constructive feedback from the research community, and broaden individuals’ outlook within their own specialist fields.
All postgraduate students in the faculty are encouraged to present at this event, using short, five minute presentations aimed at a general scientific audience. If you are well into your PhD or ResM, you could modify an existing conference or research group talk. If you have just started, instead produce a short presentation which explains the topic of your PhD/ResM and why it is interesting.
Please submit your talk title through the 'Register your place link' above. You will only need to submit your talk title and are not required to submit an abstract. You will also be asked to state which of our key themes (if any) your five minute talk best aligns with as this will aid our scheduling.
If you wish to attend as a delegate only and not present a talk, please also register your place through the link above.
Key themes align with the University’s three Strategic Research Institutes: the Marine Institute, the Sustainable Earth Institute and the Plymouth Institute of Health and Care Research.
Closing dates for submission – Friday 16 June 2023.
