This 20 credit module will be delivered through a series of seminars, tutorials, and workshops students will explore the concepts of marketing, entrepreneurship and innovation relating to independent practice, social enterprise, charitable organisations and the NHS. Students will examine and gain an understanding of law and policy related to their field of interest.

Course details

On successful completion of this module, you will be able to:
  • Demonstrate an ability to develop a business plan for the commissioning of services applying a critical understanding of related evidence.
  • Evaluate the current health and social care market and potential competitors.
  • Construct a rationale for an innovative service development based on a critical appraisal of the evidence.
  • Critically reflect and develop a plan for sustainability and longevity in the marketplace.
Assessment
The assessment for this module is made up of written coursework and a presentation.

  • You must be a registered health and social care professional or a health and social care worker who has previously studied to graduate level to study the module at masters level.
