Reverend David Evans

Ecumenical Co-ordinating Chaplain

  • Normally in the Chaplaincy Monday-Friday, 10:00–16:00.
  • Worships at Morice Baptist Church
David has been a Baptist minister since 1988 and the co-ordinating chaplain at University of Plymouth since 2003. He enjoys watching England play cricket (most of the time), walking on Dartmoor (except when it rains), and is married with four daughters. In his spare time he is also the minister of Morice Baptist Church.

Reverend Michael Shaw

Baptist Chaplain

  • Normally in the Chaplaincy Thursday 13:00–16:00.
  • Minister at Devonport Baptist Church
Micheal is a Baptist Minister for the “Historic Town of Devonport”. He is married to Katie with an adopted daughter and has two dogs. Born and raised in Surrey, he studied in Theology in Bristol, and moved to Plymouth in 2012. He loves cricket, rugby, curry and walks by the sea.

Mrs Karine Yuen

Chinese Church Chaplain

  • Normally in the Chaplaincy Wednesday 13:00–16:00.
  • Moderator of Plymouth Chinese Christian Fellowship (PCCF)
Karine has been the moderator of the Plymouth Chinese Christian Fellowship at Hope Baptist Church in Peverell since it was formed in 1996. She also supervises the Chinese Christian Fellowship group at the University of Plymouth. Karine was an IT consultant for many years, but now she is fully committed to PCCF. And is also a volunteer of the Listening Post Team at the University.

Major Pam Smith 

Salvation Army Chaplain

  • Officer in the Salvation Army Tavistock
Pamela is an officer in the Salvation Army serving in Tavistock. Pamela loves talking, listening, ice skating, the Russian language and helping at summer youth camps. She would like to be a better cook!

Mrs Ann Jones

Lay Methodist Chaplain

  • Normally in the Chaplaincy Monday 10:00–13:00.
  • Plymouth Methodist Central Hall
Ann is formerly a nurse with many years’ experience in an acute teaching hospital. She is involved with children’s work, including ‘Open the Book’ and ‘Messy Church’. She has a particular interest in New Tribes Mission and Open Doors, and enjoys walking and travel. She is married to Barry.

Mr Jonny Libby

Jonny is married to Denise and has three wonderful kids. He enjoys drinking coffee, reading the Word of God and allowing it to read us (combining the two is great fun). He loves sport and getting outdoors.

Ann Stevens

Church of England Chaplain
  • Normally in the Chaplaincy on Tuesday morning
Ann is a lay reader in the Church of England. She has lived in Plymouth for 20 years, having moved down from London for a quieter life. She enjoys reading, walking, music, theatre and travelling to New Zealand as often as possible to visit her son, daughter-in-law and three grandchildren.

Miss Katie van Santen

Additional Anglican Chaplain

  • Normally in the Chaplaincy Wednesdays 10:00–13:00.
  • Attends St Jude's Church.
Katie moved to Plymouth in 2004 to study marine biology and was a Student Chaplaincy Assistant for two years. She helps to run Christians in Science Southwest, but can also be found telling stories about starfish at the National Marine Aquarium, preaching at local churches, and studying theology. She enjoys sewing, reading, and wild swimming.
