University-managed Halls of Residence

We want you to enjoy living and studying in Plymouth, build life-long friendships and feel fully supported during your time with us. We offer a great variety of halls to choose from which provide a safe and friendly environment for our students.
Your accommodation licence will be with the University, and our halls are provided in partnership with UPP, the UK’s leading provider of on-campus residential and academic accommodation infrastructure.
They provide and maintain the buildings while the University provides a range of support for you, including social events to create great communities, welfare support and 24/7 security to help to keep you safe.
Our Halls of Residence are located on campus, or within the nearby Student Village – only a few minutes’ walk from both University facilities and the city centre!

Applications for September 2023

The accommodation portal is now open for applicants joining the University in September 2023.
We understand how important it is for new students to find the home that's right for them, so that's why we offer an Accommodation Guarantee. We guarantee to offer a place in Halls - either University-managed or with an accredited private provider - to all eligible new undergraduate students who apply for their accommodation before the 19 June 2023 and meet the criteria set out in our terms and conditions.
Please note: to make an application for a place in Halls, the University of Plymouth must be your first choice University. Once the Accommodation Portal opens, you will be sent an email inviting you to make an account and make your booking!

Living in the private sector

If university accommodation is not for you, the city of Plymouth offers a huge range of accommodation for students. Whether you're looking for purpose built student accommodation, student houses, flats or even homestays, there's something out there to meet all budgets - both in the city centre or surrounding areas.
University-managed Halls offer single person accommodation from September to July and are most popular with first year undergraduates. Summer stays are also available. Plymouth is a popular student city, so it's never too soon to start looking and secure your preferred property!

The Student Accommodation Code

We adhere to the Student Accommodation Code which means that we go the extra mile to make sure that you get the best quality accommodation while you are with us. The Code is managed by an external group which inspects our halls to ensure that they are in tip-top condition.
