Communication and openness

Plymouth University has signed up to the UK Concordat on Openness in Animal Research. This means that we are committed to its four tenets:

  • Clarity about when, how and why we use animals in research
  • Communication with the media and public about our research using animals
  • Opportunities for the public to find out about our research using animals
  • Updated reports and sharing of our experiences
We are proud of our published research and are committed to sharing it with a wide audience. Where research has used animals we will always say so, and we will continue to promote our breakthroughs in finding alternatives.

Data available on our web pages, including numbers and types of animals used, will be updated regularly.
