Students who have completed IIX Certificate, Thanaweya A’ama/Azhar General Secondary School Certificate are required to take a foundation year (one year duration).  Our partner college on campus, Plymouth University International College (PUIC), offers a wide variety of foundation courses. 

Students who have completed a two year diploma from an intermediate or higher institute may be eligible to enter Year 1.


We require applicants to have completed a 4 year bachelor degree from a recognised institution with the following classification:

Egyptian Arts degree classification  Egyptian Sciences degree classification  American University in Cairo CGPA out of 4.0  UK degree equivalent 
90% - 100% 85% - 100% 3.7 - 4.0 (90% - 100%) 1st
80% - 89% 75% - 84% 3.0 - 3.6 (84% - 89%) 2:1
65% - 79% 65% - 74% 2.7 - 2.9 (80% - 83%) 2:2

English language 

A recognised English language qualification (e.g. IELTS) would be required or successful completion of one of Plymouth University's pre-sessional English Language courses.
