    • Introduction to Literary Studies - Part 1 (Elizabethans to Victorians) (SOUD1257)

    • Engaging with History and Heritage (SOUD1523)

      This module will develop students through engagement with History and Heritage.  Students will learn about, understand and apply key skills that are essential to the practice of History. Students will develop workplace skills pertaining to local heritage through practical volunteer-based experience. By the end of this module students will have a general understanding of both academic and vocational history

    • Introduction to Literary Studies - Part 2 (WW1 to the Present Day) (SOUD1258)

    • The Dawning of America: From Plymouth Rock to the Philippines c.1600 - 1900 (SOUD1259)

    • Evolution and Revolution in Reformation Europe c.1500 - 1700 (SOUD1248)

  • Final year

  • Core modules

    • The American Literary Voice (SOUD2194)

    • The Reluctant Handover: The changing Anglo-American relationship in the 20th century (SOUD2190)

    • History, Controversy and Debate (SOUD2482)

      Students will consider the importance and contribution of key historiographic debates and controversies that have occurred within the discipline of History. Students will gain an in depth understanding for not only individual historians and their interpretations but the overall and ongoing value, relevancy and contribution that these particular debates have made to the study of History and to contemporary society.
