Students at Flux competition

Academic Partnerships continuously works with partners to develop businesses and employees, sharing expertise through working with colleges and the University. We've designed and developed key partnership services to support staff, students and businesses.

At Plymouth we provide an incubation hub for business support, as well as services to develop, establish and grow. Some of our local partners are currently mirroring this model to further embed employability networks.

The Cube offers advice, funding and support to businesses, freelancers and the self-employed, with services open to students from all schools at all levels of study, as well as graduates.

Collaborative business developments such as The Pool Innovation Centre, a business acceleration facility, welcome start-up and existing businesses from a range of sectors. They provide office space and business support, plus meeting and conference facilities to help grow business.

Student experience information

To support our students, we've designed a student study file which is available from the Study with Plymouth website. This encompasses a wealth of signposted resources to support student study - from application to progression and beyond.

Supporting partnership staff

At Academic Partnerships, we're committed to supporting partnership staff through a mixture of blended opportunities. Examples of these are:

  • developing and designing partnership awards
  • working collaboratively to assure quality provision, including benchmarking activities
  • support for programme management
  • encouraging pedagogic innovations
  • embedding strategy and policy
  • identification and delivery of training and professional development needs
  • supporting the wider student experience.

Mobile with University of Plymouth

Mobile with University of Plymouth is an app for all mobile devices. It allows students, both current and prospective, to access comprehensive information about the University - including library and timetabling, wherever they are.

The Plymouth student voice

Students and staff are members of the academic community - all partners with complementary roles and responsibilities in the learning process. At Plymouth, students and staff have jointly developed an agreement that sets out key principles underpinning this partnership: Students as Partners. Through this partnership, we're enhancing academic standards and achieving the University’s vision, mission and values
