We have technical and support vacancies at a range of levels in the Technology and Information Services (TIS) directorate.
Candidates will need to display excellent problem-solving skills, be able to communicate in writing and verbally with users throughout the University, and be comfortable contributing to a successful team dynamic and sharing knowledge with others. Experience of working in a formal IT service management environment (ITIL/SDI/ISO20000) and the use of agile methodologies is desirable.

Endpoint Management and Support

We are looking for several candidates to join our Endpoint Management team in IT Customer Services. This will involve managing and administering the technology and tools used to provision and support end user devices throughout their lifecycle. This is to support our staff, students and researchers using our fleet of over 6,500 end-user devices. Ideally, you should have proven experience and capabilities covering at least one or more of the following areas:
  • Management of end user computing devices including desktops, laptops, and mobile devices
  • Desktop applications and operating systems installation, configuration and support
  • Endpoint device management using technologies, such as Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Intune, Jamf Pro
  • Software packaging, deployment and troubleshooting, including zero-touch deployment
  • Licence management and compliance
  • Endpoint security and compliance monitoring, including antivirus, patching and privilege access management
  • Active directory and group policy scripting, including using PowerShell
  • Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) technology such as VMware, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
  • Data collection and analysis using SQL, Excel and various standard statistical packages

Developer/DevOps

We are looking for developers with strong development and operational skills for roles within our DevOps teams in IT Product Development and Delivery department. Successful applicants will be working in a dynamic team supporting the full product lifecycle management for the University's applications and infrastructure. Ideally you should have good skills and capabilities in some of the following areas:
  • on-premise and cloud infrastructure and backups including Microsoft Azure, HCI, HPC
  • Microsoft Windows Server and/or Linux operating systems
  • endpoint security, monitoring and compliance
  • platforms including SQL Server, SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Identity Manager
  • PowerShell and/or Linux shell scripting
  • Developing integrations and widgets using ASP.net with C#
  • Salesforce CRM development using Salesforce Apex
