In partnership with the Red Cross, students deliver supervised International Humanitarian Law workshops in Devonport High School for Girls, a local secondary school. The workshops cover international armed conflict and lead up to a final mock trial conducted in the style of an international war crime tribunal, argued with cases prepared by the secondary school students. The workshops are a great way to build awareness of international conflict and human rights within the community.
The project also gives University of Plymouth students a great opportunity to develop their international legal, political and diplomacy knowledge and improve their communication and organisational skills through workshop preparation and presentation.
