South West Oral History Workshop, essential kit.

The History department are delighted to offer an MA module in Oral History starting in September 2021 entitled ‘Remembering the past, talking history: oral history and memory studies.’
This new module builds on the strength of oral history teaching and modules offered as part of the History undergraduate course. It will allow postgraduate students to develop their skills and interests in a range of practical and theoretical aspects of oral history. These will include critical theoretical, historiographical, and methodological knowledge in oral history, ‘talking’/reflective history approaches, and memory studies. Students can take this module as part of a range of MA programmes including MA History, MA Maritime History and MA Heritage Theory and Practice.
