Join us to celebrate the launch of Rainbow Punch: Reflections on Lockdown. 
Published by Arkbound, the anthology presents an eclectic mix of poetry and prose that showcases global experiences of lockdown. It highlights the unique experience of being pregnant during the pandemic and pays tribute to NHS workers who tirelessly fought at the front line, the mothers who gave birth during this time and the Pandemic babies. 
Rainbow Punch is a lockdown legacy like no other. An anthology of mixed-genre writings from nineteen women, with each piece paired with an evocative illustration from one of six talented female artists. Drawing rainbows became a global phenomenon throughout the pandemic, and this sign of hope unites each piece within this anthology. Rainbow Punch showcases a comprehensive collection of perspectives spanning twelve different countries, from the experiences of motherhood across a spectrum of ages to the lives of dedicated, front-line healthcare workers, friends and lockdown-induced fantastical imaginings. With all royalties going to Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity, this book is a spectacular tribute to our tenacity in difficult times and documents a landmark moment in shared global culture.

The evening will include readings from a number of contributors and the opportunity to hear from the editor and Plymouth's Laureate of Words. With artwork and extracts on display, there will be chance to buy copies of the book during the event. 
This is a relaxed event and attendees are welcome to bring children. 
About the author 
Lauren Hayhurst is a creative writer, University of Plymouth lecturer and narrative designer. She had baby Alicia two weeks before the UK first went into lockdown in March 2020. As a way to survive an isolated maternity leave, she created a lit-mag - Lockdown BabyBabble - which collected poetry, fiction and non-fiction on caregiving during the pandemic. Rainbow Punch is Lauren’s way of leaving a creative artefact for Alicia and all other children born in this time to show that strength and compassion will always prosper in the face of adversity.  
100% of royalties from the book go to the Rainbow Trust Children's Charity. The charity provides emotional and practical support to families who have a child with life-threatening or terminal illness.
