Singing for Wellness project
The Singing for Wellness project, run by Wren Music and funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, is a community-based initiative that utilises group singing to improve the wellbeing of individuals and communities, particularly those with respiratory conditions or long COVID, or those in need of social inclusion. It follows a successful NHS-funded pilot in Torbay before the pandemic, with sessions taking place in East Devon, West Devon and Torbay.
The sessions aim to overcome some of those barriers and are run by three singing leaders from Wren Music, who have all received specialist training from Kath Donohue, Academic Lead for BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy at the University.
