The University's English Language Centre (ELC) is delighted to offer free English language classes over the summer aimed at providing language support for newly arrived refugees and asylum seekers in the local community who may not be able to access language support from other providers.
We have recently opened a second class to welcome the increasing numbers of Ukrainian nationals arriving in Plymouth and the local area, many of whom are being sponsored by staff at the University.
Classes run on Thursdays (10:00–11:30) and Fridays (11:00–12:30) and are facilitated by ELC members.
The classes are very welcoming and collaborative, and are providing a vital link for people arriving in Plymouth who want to connect with others and develop vital language skills.
Please email elc@plymouth.ac.uk to find out more or if you are interested in attending.
