With increasing demand and fewer resources, hospitals are under increasing pressure but there are also promising and exciting new opportunities to improve clinical outcomes through the use of research and evidence and the development of new innovations and technologies. Critical to this will be support for clinician-led research and the development of strong, sustainable and trusting research collaborations between hospitals and universities.
University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust (UHPNHST) and the University's Plymouth Institute of Health and Care Research (PIHR) are organising a joint conference to promote the work of researchers from both organisations with the aim of fostering engagement and encouraging collaboration.
This one day conference is open to staff and students from the University and University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust as well as interested attendees from other organisations.
The conference will comprise keynote presentations, talks on medical devices and medical imaging research, sessions on broader research and working collaboratively, in addition to poster presentations and time to network. Refreshments, including lunch, will be provided.
