Doctoral Training Partnerships

Doctoral Training Partnerships (DTP) and Centres for Doctoral Training (CDT) are funded by UK Research Councils and provide bespoke training for postgraduate researchers.

Through working in partnership with other organisations and institutions, the University of Plymouth provides funding and training opportunities to our students. You can find out more about each of our DTPs below.

The Advanced Research and Innovation in the Environmental Sciences (ARIES) Doctoral Training Partnership

Apply for a Natural Environmental Research Council funded PhD with the ARIES DTP. Applications are now open for studentships with an October 2020 start.

Funding from the South West Doctoral Training Partnership

The University of Plymouth provides research expertise for the SWDTP in the human geography and psychology discipline pathways. We have a wide range of opportunities for study in these pathways based within the relevant research centres and groups.

The closing date for applications for this current round is 12 noon Tuesday 21 January 2020, with studentships starting on 1 October 2020.
