Doctoral Training Partnerships

Doctoral Training Partnerships (DTP) and Centres for Doctoral Training (CDT) are funded by UK Research Councils and provide bespoke training for postgraduate researchers.

Through working in partnership with other organisations and institutions, the University of Plymouth provides funding and training opportunities to our students. You can find out more about each of our DTPs below.

EPSRC Doctoral Training Partnership

The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and the University are creating a new Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) which will support a minimum of 11 PhD studentships. Starting in 2020 and 2021, the students will work alongside world-leading researchers and use cutting edge facilities to develop new and innovative ideas across the two subject areas.

The new partnership focuses on two of the University’s key strategic areas, and it is already playing a significant role in driving the national agenda around offshore renewable energy and health technology.
