Biography
Biography
I am a Research Fellow in the Centre for Health Technology (CHT), currently working on the EPSRC funded Intergenerational Codesign Of Novel technologies In Coastal communities (ICONIC) project. ICONIC was set up to tackle digital exclusion in Cornwall and Devon through the community-based co-design of novel technologies that support access to heritage, the environment, and the local community. My previous work with the CHT included the GOALD and EPIC projects, and focused on the codesign and evaluation of digital health innovations.
Before I joined the CHT, I completed an iCASE PhD funded by the EPSRC with Defence Science and Technology Laboratory as the industrial partner. My PhD research explored the roles of motility in human navigation and large-scale search behaviour. During my PhD I created experimental tasks that assessed navigation and search behaviour on both immersive VR and desktop-based VR platforms using Unity game engine software. The desktop versions of these tasks were subsequently deployed on online platforms to support the remote collection of data during the COVID-19 pandemic.
