Postgraduate Open Evening

Experts at Plymouth University will be giving advice on employment preparation and career advancement at a Postgraduate and Professional Open Evening on 18 November.

From chemistry to construction and marketing to management, visitors will be able to put their questions about courses directly to the academics from 3.30pm to 6.30pm at the main campus in Drake's Circus, Plymouth.

With representation from arts and humanities, business, science and engineering, health and human sciences, and the Plymouth University Peninsula Schools of Medicine and Dentistry, there will also be the chance to find out about the different options for study, from a taught masters programme to a research degree or a professional doctorate.

Dr John Martin, Head of Research Support and Development said:

“Ranking as one of the top 50 universities in the UK for research, with nearly two-thirds of our research graded as world-leading or of international quality in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework, our postgraduate students are supported and supervised by staff who are international experts in their field. Their breadth and depth of knowledge means they are well placed to help plan towards a future career and give advice based on genuine experience."

The courses offer flexibility with many postgraduate taught programmes run on a part time basis allowing students to balance studying with personal and professional commitments.

Guided tours will be given to showcase the teaching facilities as well as recreational spaces, and finance experts will be on hand to discuss funding options.

Registration takes place in the Roland Levinsky Building on the main campus. A programme will be given on arrival with a list of scheduled talks.
