Applying from your country

If you’re thinking about studying with University of Plymouth, you may choose to seek support from one of our authorised education agents or counsellors to help with your application.
Education agents provide a range of services to support you, from identifying the right university and course to guiding you through the application and enrolment process. They can also assist with visa applications, travel, and accommodation arrangements.
They cannot make offers of a place on a programme at the University of Plymouth; all decisions on applications are made by the university. If you enrol with us, we pay the education agent a commission/fee.
We work with an established network of educational agencies who play a highly valued role in supporting applicants and prospective students who plan to study at Plymouth.
Check our regional entry requirements and contact our local agents for support with your application.

The British Council student guide to choosing an education agent

Choosing to study in the UK, whether with the University of Plymouth or somewhere else, is one of the most important decisions you can make. To support with this decision, some students consider using the services of an education agent when applying to us.
Education agents provide a range of services to support you - from identifying the right university and course, to guiding you through the application and enrolment process. They can also assist with visa applications, travel, and accommodation arrangements.
To make sure you get the best support, the UK education sector has established the Agent Quality Framework (AQF), a set of standards and resources that support agents and counsellors to:
  • have up-to-date knowledge about studying in the UK
  • understand the UK’s visa and immigration system
  • give advice that is in line with your interests and supports your study abroad journey.
This means you can feel more confident that the advice you receive is accurate and that your application is being handled correctly.
If you are considering using an education agent, we recommend reading the student and parent guide to choosing an education agent, an important part of the UK Agent Quality Framework (AQF).
The guide provides you and your family with clear information and guidance on what you should look for when considering using an agent. It includes key questions to ask, signs of quality, and how to avoid poor practices. The guide also links to ‘The national code of ethical practice for UK education agents’ and the British Council’s UK database of certified counsellors.
If you have any questions about the AQF and using the services of one our partner agents please contact international@plymouth.ac.uk
