Organisation Development and Culture module

HML712

30 credits (Leadership pathway option at Diploma stage)

The second of two modules comprising the first year, this provides an interesting, unusual and crucial perspective for the emerging leader of NHS organisations, their structures, cultures and the values people hold within them, alongside a critical view of how change is managed and strategy is agreed. Covering essential topics from the organisation development lexicon, students can expect to apply concepts from the off, culminating with the production of a report written from the perspective of a management consultant.

This module is run by Louise Hardy, programme lead of the MSc Healthcare Management and Leadership and welcomes guest speakers in the form of senior leaders who are experts in their fields. It will be supplemented by some key Global Health Leaders seminars preparing you to become a global leader of the future. This module runs in the spring term over two three day blocks. There is also a presentation day in early summer as part of the assessment.
