What is Enterprise Solutions?

Enterprise Solutions helps you to navigate your way to the University of Plymouth’s internationally renowned research expertise, facilities and business services. It connects you to the right support that meets your organisation’s needs.

The University works with hundreds of organisations, both large and small, to find innovative solutions to the challenges they face. This could involve joint research and development projects, access to our innovation centres or science park or accessing student talent or academic expertise.

Enterprise Solutions can assist businesses and public or third sector organisations to tap into our services, injecting new thinking to support and drive innovation.

Covid-19 Support Services to Business

The University of Plymouth is ranked in the top 20 universities in the country for supporting SMEs and is committed to helping businesses find new ways to recover and grow in the current crisis.

Our team is working with business organisations across the South West to offer a package of support from our experts, drawing on years of research and practical business experience to:

  • Give you access to brilliant minds and state-of-the-art equipment
  • Steer your business through current challenges and prepare your organisation for the future
  • Identify practical solutions to ensure your business thrives through resilience and innovation

R&D Solutions Fund

The £200,000 fund, delivered in partnership between the University and Thomas Westcott Chartered Accountants, is designed to stimulate industrial collaborations and knowledge transfer opportunities between our researchers and businesses, aiming to solve specific ‘business problems’.Grants of up to £20,000 will be available during two funding rounds:

  • Call 1: 9 November 2020 – closes 9.00 Monday 21 December 2020
  • Call 2: 8 February 2021 – closes 9.00 Monday 22 March 2021

The programme is open to businesses from any industry sector or geographic location in the UK. The funds can be used to cover a variety of costs, including academic research time to focus on a specific opportunity or challenge to a business; research time of the industrial partner; and access to specialist University facilities or equipment.
