Unlocking potential through research

Since 2010, SERIO (Social Economic and Market Research Observatory) has offered specialist evaluation and social research services both regionally and nationally to public, private and third sector organisations. Based on our track-record of over 600 successful projects, we can ensure that our outputs are robust, accessible and readily utilised, enabling our clients to make informed decisions and develop effective policy and strategy based on our findings.
Our team works closely with a wide range of partners to provide evidence for the continuous improvement of systems and services. Our agile approach, allied with up-to-date research methods, has made us a leader in independent, authoritative program and service evaluation.
Based within the Research and Innovation department of the University of Plymouth, SERIO collaborates with a wide range of academic leaders from across the University, as well as external experts, both national and international. We pride ourselves on the academic rigour which we apply to our research. We collaborate closely with our clients to ensure that our research findings are widely disseminated in order to promote best practice.

We commissioned SERIO to carry out an independent evaluation on our project. SERIO staff were friendly, professional and clear about schedules from the start and worked alongside us and our stakeholders and clients. The final evaluation is a very thorough document, laid out in an accessible manner. We have already sent the evaluation to funders, including local authorities, who have all been impressed with the contents. As we plan for the future, this document will be a great help with funding applications, as a clear piece of evidence about our strengths as a project and areas where we can improve.
