Letterpress studio, Scott building
Scott Building gives students access to a screen print studio, a letterpress studio and a traditional print studio.  This enables you to use a wide variety of printing techniques, from monoprint, lino, collagraph, drypoint and etching through to silkscreen printing on paper, fabric and ceramic transfer paper.
The faculty paper store also stocks lino, copper, mark resist and a wide variety of specialist papers, cards and fabrics available for purchase.

Scott 008: Letterpress studio
Scott 010: Traditional print studio
Scott 002 has four vacuum screen printing beds for the accurate registration of prints and a large textile printing table for lengths of fabric and wallpapers, as well as batch production of smaller items. A darkroom houses an exposure unit to transfer work onto screens coated with UV-reactive emulsion, and a wash room to clean screens after use.
The letterpress workshop (Scott 008) contains 450 cases of type made of wood or metal, combined with leading and spacing (the white space surrounding the words).
Type can be hand-assembled, hand-inked and hand-printed using one of the six presses available, bringing a truly unique experience to the printing of words.
Scott 010 contains a variety of presses for relief work, off-set litho and heavy-duty book binding, including two historic Columbian presses and two traditional etching presses.
A ventilated dark room is available for acid etching, aquatint and photopolymer plates.
