Calling University of Plymouth students! The University is offering you the opportunity to explore the incredible beauty around Devon and Cornwall.
We are offering a free monthly walking group for students with all travel expenses provided.
The walking group provides students with the opportunity to develop social connections with others and help alleviate stressors related to studies and academic pressures through exercise, spending time outdoors and connecting with nature. It offers students the chance to discover the incredible beauty around Devon and Cornwall and demonstrate how accessible it is through the use of public transport.
  • Meet on the 3rd Wednesday of every month – pick-up point on the SU Roof.
  • Free event – all travel expenses provided for students attending.
  • Exploring a new area of Devon or Cornwall each month.

Taster event

About this walk:
The University of Plymouth Student Wellbeing Services welcomes you to Plymouth with a short walk along the waterfront to explore Plymouth's historic Hoe and Barbican. This is a taster event for the Wellbeing Walks that will be held every third Wednesday of the month throughout the academic year.
  • Meet on the Student Union roof on the University campus at 11:30am.
  • Please wear suitable footwear for walking and appropriate clothing for the weather conditions, including sun cream if it’s sunny.
  • Please bring your own refreshments.

  • 15 October – Royal William Yard and Devil's Point (walk from West Hoe)
  • 19 November – Mount Batten by ferry
  • December – no walk (break for the holidays)
  • 21 January – Bere Ferres by train
  • 18 February – Mount Edgecumbe by ferry
  • 18 March – Wembury to Heybrook Bay
  • 15 April – Calstock to Cothele House by train
  • 20 May – Kingsands and Cawsands by ferry to Mount Edgecumbe
  • 17 June – Looe by train
