Calling University of Plymouth students! The University has linked up with Devon & Cornwall Rail Partnership to offer you the opportunity to explore the incredible beauty around Devon and Cornwall.
We are offering a free monthly walking group for students with all travel expenses provided, using Great Western Railway to travel via train to destinations along the Tamar Valley Line and more.
The walking group provides students with the opportunity to develop social connections with others and help alleviate stressors related to studies and academic pressures through exercise, spending time outdoors and connecting with nature. It offers students the chance to discover the incredible beauty around Devon and Cornwall and demonstrate how accessible it is through the use of public transport.
  • Meet on the 3rd Wednesday of every month.
  • Free event – all travel expenses provided through Devon & Cornwall Rail Partnership.
  • Exploring a new area or Devon or Cornwall each month.

Join us for our last walk of the academic year in Looe.
About this walk...
  • An easy 1.5 mile walk in Looe
  • Take the opportunity to explore the town and have lunch before returning. Please bring your own food and drink for this event.
  • We will be catching the 11:20 train from Plymouth (meet on the SU Roof at 10:45), arriving in Looe at 12:24. The train back will be at 15:45 and we will arrive in Plymouth at 16:45.
  • Please ensure you wear suitable footwear for walking and appropriate clothing for the weather conditions, including suncream if it's sunny.
Please note: unfortunately this walk is not suitable for students with mobility issues.
