This online session, run in association with colleagues from Durham University, will examine issues surround how best to support neurodivergent Postgraduate Researchers (PGRs). Attendees will also have opportunity to share and discuss challenges and successes in supporting neurodivergent PGRs.
The session will cover topics such as:
- What is neurodiversity?
- What are the barriers and facilitators to supporting neurodivergent postgraduate researchers?
- What are the key considerations for postgraduate research students that might be different to the support needed for undergraduate or taught postgraduate students?
- Considering a strengths-based approach to supporting neurodivergent postgraduate researchers.
- Considerations for supervisors or neurodivergent students.
- Examples of best practice in supporting neurodivergent postgraduate researchers.
- What are the next steps we need to take to ensure neurodivergent postgraduate researchers can thrive when completing their postgraduate research?
