Mechanical engineering isn't just about machines – it's about designing and optimising the physical systems that connect society's most important resources. Mechanical engineers are increasingly solving interconnected systems problems that involve structures, materials, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, sensors, robotics, manufacturing and control underpinned by mathematics.
Dr Asiya Khan provides you with an insight in to what it would be like to study a mechanical or marine engineering course at the University of Plymouth, by delivering an interactive subject taster session that considers how Water, Energy, Food and Environment (WEFE) challenges are interconnected, and how mechanical engineering might be used to address these sustainability issues.
