Are you considering a career in healthcare or social care? Join us for our Health and Social Care Showcase, designed for students in Years 10-13 who want to explore the wide range of courses and rewarding career pathways available at the University.
This interactive event provides a unique opportunity to meet academics and current students, and take part in a variety of engaging, hands-on activities from across our health and social care disciplines.
What can you expect?
Throughout the showcase, students will have the chance to try a range of practical activities and discover the diverse professions that make up today's health and social care workforce. Activities may include:
- Learning essential life support skills
- Experiencing a simulated childbirth scenario
- Investigating movement, strength and rehabilitation techniques
- Exploring real-world social work case studies
- Examining cells and diseases under the microscope
- Discovering eye health assessment techniques
And many more!
Whether you're interested in caring directly for patients, supporting communities, improving wellbeing, or advancing healthcare through science and technology, this event will help you understand the many opportunities available.
Schools and colleges can book onto one of three sessions throughout the day:
Session 1: 09:00 – 11:30
Session 2: 10:45 – 13:15
Session 3: 12:45 – 15:15
Session 2: 10:45 – 13:15
Session 3: 12:45 – 15:15
- The last 30 minutes of each session is an optional campus tour, please indicate on the form if you would like to attend this.
- Please note, places are limited, we may restrict your booking to 30 places per school.
- The event is open to pre-booked school and college groups only.
