Undergraduate open days

Before you register for this virtual event, please take the time to read how the subject sessions will run.

Once you have registered, you will receive a confirmation email which will contain a full schedule of events including Zoom links to the virtual Q&As.

Using Zoom

The Q&As will be delivered through Zoom. If you do not have a Zoom account please set one up for free by visiting the Zoom website.

You will need to be logged into your own Zoom account to be able to join the sessions.

On the day

Follow the URL that will be provided on your confirmation email to get to the Zoom meeting.

If you are early to the meeting, Zoom will update and refresh your page when the meeting host has started the meeting.

The Zoom link you will receive when registered will be for the whole academic school. Once you arrive into that meeting there will then be the subject specific rooms where the Q&As will take place – please see below for lists of subjects that belong in each school.

For the subject-specific Q&As, we will allocate you into your rooms based on your course choice on the registration form so please select the course whose Q&A session you would like to attend.

During the session

Your camera and microphone will be automatically turned off and muted when you enter the session and will remain so throughout.

Your Zoom username will be displayed on screen and will be visible to other participants in the meeting.

If you would like to ask a question in the session please ask them via the chat function, but please remember your question will be visible to the other participants.

The member of staff hosting the Q&A will be able to see your questions and answer them during the session.

If you would like to leave the meeting at any point, please press the ‘Leave meeting’ button found in the bottom right hand of the screen.

Ending the session

Once the Q&A has finished the host will do this for you which will automatically end the meeting.

If you want to move to a Q&A session for another course, please leave the room and go back to the main meeting room where you can let the host know which room you would like to be moved into.
