Welcome to our FREE introductory programme Working Abroad for International Students – also known as WAFIS!
Designed specifically for you, WAFIS is open to international students from any country, on any course, at any level of study. The programme is made up of a series of workshops (some in-person and some online), plus a video.

You can attend one, all or as many of the sessions as you like, which introduce the following topics:

Workshops

  • Writing English CVs
    Learn how to write a CV for the UK marketplace with hints, tips and an opportunity to practice writing a personal profile.  
  • Professional English for the Workplace
    Learn about workplace culture in the UK, etiquette and professional language.
  • Working in the UK during your studies
    Learn about the practicalities of working in the UK during your studies.
  • Working in the UK after your studies
    Learn about the practicalities of staying to work in the UK after your studies.
  • Working in the UK – successful applications
    introduces key considerations to be aware of if you want to work in the UK, such as what employers want and application processes.
  • Masters’ applications
    This session will help you understand what’s needed to write a successful Masters’ application.
