Halls of residence amber hall

An advantage of living in halls is that as part of the application process you complete a personality questionnaire so you are matched with people similar to yourself.

Booking your accommodation

Once you've chosen your preferred halls of residence, you can apply for your room through the accommodation portal. Halls of residence applications are on a first-come, first-served basis; we don't ask for your first, second or third choice.
When allocating rooms, we endeavour to match you with people who have similar living habits and interests to you. The application process includes some lifestyle questions to help us with the allocations – for example, whether you prefer to go to bed early or late. This helps us to place you with likeminded flatmates.

Off campus

Rooms in off-campus halls of residence are accredited under Accreditation Network UK (ANUK). These halls of residence are part of the 'good practice' network, providing reassurance that the accommodation is safe, well managed and supportive of residents. ANUK accreditation is assessed by an independent verifier and compliance is periodically tested.
