Biography

Biography

I am a multi-arts practitioner who specialises in music composition and orchestration particularly for the theatre. I am currently reading for PhD which is investigating the audience emotional relationships with experimental music theatre. 

I teach on the BA Music module MUS509 - Independent Study for Musicians

Research interests

Music Theatre, Opera, Intermediality, Experimental Music, Immersive Theatre, Chamber Opera, Sound Art.

My PhD research is investigating, though social science experiments, how orchestration employed in music theatre creates certain aesthetics which link audiences to deep emotional reactions such as pain, discomfort, strong empathy, happiness, laughter, and guilt.
