Biography
Biography
Based in the Fitzroy building, I work as a technician in the Earth Sciences. This involves liaising with and helping the academics in all aspects of practicals, from helping with microscopes to geophysics. I make sure all materials/specimens are available for the academics and students to use, as well as helping running the labs and maintaining the geological teaching collection.
Qualifications
I qualified from the University of Plymouth in 2005 with a BSc (Hons) Geology and Ocean Science, I then followed this up with a MSc Global Environmental Change, completed in 2006, also at the University of Plymouth. From there I worked offshore on drilling rigs for 10 years, drilling exploration and appraisal wells mostly in the North Sea. The last 3 years of my time offshore was spent working as a Wellsite Geologist for NAM/Shell offshore Netherlands.
