Teaching interests
My teaching interests include all forms of clinical research and rehabilitation. I have experience of teaching at undergraduate and post graduate level, and fulfilling the role of module lead at Plymouth University, Exeter University, Brunel University, and UCL. Responsibilities have included designing and running modules; setting exam questions; marking assignments, project proposals; attending exam board; and fulfilling the role of personal tutor and academic project supervisor. Curriculum development and quality enhancement were an integral part of each post.

Research interests
My research interests focus on physical rehabilitation and evaluation of complex interventions. My most recent clinical trial in exercise in neuromuscular disease resulted in a 2019 publication in the Journal neurology (impact factor 8.689). My PhD work was an investigation into the recovery of arm and hand function after stroke and involved obtaining permissions and running a clinical trial of a medicinal product (CTIMP). I currently co-supervise a PhD student at University of Plymouth co-producing a rehabilitation intervention for a rare neurological condition in children.
