What does purposeful business look like?

How can we put purpose before profit for the good of planet and people?

With the rise in interest and gaining momentum of purposeful business, we’ll explore what this means and showcase some local examples challenging “business-as-usual” and doing things differently with positive environmental and social change at their core.

Join guest speakers and panellists to explore how purposeful business can catalyse action on climate change and enable a shift towards a zero carbon future:

  • Chris Hines MBE, A Grain of Sand, co-founder of Surfers Against Sewage and previous Sustainability Director at the Eden Project.

  • Andy Snapes, Senior Partner of Ward Williams Associates who recently certified with the UK’s 4th highest B Corp score.
  • Linzi Hawkin, co-founder and Brand Strategist at Protect Blue, ocean focused creative agency specialising in strategy, storytelling, education and expeditions.
  • Debbie Luffman, Product Director at Finisterre, Cornish headquartered outdoor brand who design functional and sustainable products with an ethos of product, environment and people.

Inspire Ambition: Purposeful Business is part of the System Shift – Low Carbon Devon event series which facilitates proactive conversation with curious and courageous doers, creative thinkers and leaders at the forefront of change. These events aim to explore what a zero carbon future might look like, the bold and systemic change required and how we can imagine a world where people and planet flourish.

Open to all – business and enterprise leaders and staff, members of the public, researchers, community groups, students and those who are curious and looking for a dose inspiration to help tackle the climate challenge.
