The Marine Institute has secured funding to support two scholarships to enable current final-year undergraduate students to continue their education at the University via a marine related postgraduate masters level course.
This scheme has been made possible via a generous donation from Ashfords Solicitors with a key aim of helping to retain talented students in the region. Two scholarships each of £2000 are available for students who are offered a place on one of our marine related postgraduate masters level courses starting in September 2021.
To be eligible you must:
- Be in the final year of study on an undergraduate course at the University of Plymouth
- At the time of submitting your application for the Scholarship have already applied for a marine related postgraduate masters level course at the University of Plymouth commencing in September 2020 (list below)
- Submit an application to Katie Pritchard (K.Pritchard@plymouth.ac.uk ) at the Marine Institute no later than 12 noon on 14 May 2021.
Applicants will be judged primarily on the basis of their undergraduate academic performance. Shortlisting will consider a personal statement indicating why you wish to take the postgraduate course you have selected and how this choice fits with your longer term career or personal objectives.
It is a precondition of the award that successful applicants will conduct a marine themed dissertation as part of their studies.
