This event will begin with an hour specifically for children and families, followed by an hour for special educators.
It is an interactive movement workshop that enables participants to discuss and reflect upon inclusive approaches to physical activity. A key feature will be a series of display boards and posters showcasing child-led narratives from our research.
These displays will highlight children's own perspectives and experiences of physical activity, including activities such as swimming, trampolining, floor-based movement, using walkers and standers, and participation in group sports sessions. Through photographs, quotes and creative outputs, attendees will gain insight into what meaningful physical activity looks like from the child's perspective.
The event will provide opportunities for families, educators and community providers to reflect on the research findings, share experiences and develop ideas for creating more inclusive physical activity opportunities in schools and community settings.
