Broaden your experience of theatre and performance while you study, with access to shows and performances from well-known practitioners and theatre and dance companies:
As a student at the University you will have access to the theatre and dance performance programme with The Arts Institute – some of the best work in the country comes to perform in Plymouth, for example Action Hero, Wendy Houstoun, Gecko, Russell Malpihant and Lone Twin.
There are also special excursions to see performances in London. Past trips have included Punchdrunk Theatre’s The Drowned Man.
Great theatre on your doorstep - the Theatre Royal Plymouth attracts many well-known artists and touring dance and theatre companies, including Hofesh Shechter, Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures, the National Theatre, Birmingham Royal Ballet and Rambert; and the Barbican Theatre Plymouth also hosts many local and emergent dance and theatre companies.
Studying abroad
Experience other cultures while you study. We have exchange programmes with universities in Canada, Lithuania, Sweden, Italy and the US, where students can opt to spend one term or an academic year studying abroad.
