Postgraduate scholarships for international students
To reward outstanding achievement the University of Plymouth offer scholarship schemes to help towards funding your studies. 
Students are only entitled to be awarded ONE scholarship of the highest value in any given academic year. These scholarship schemes are for students commencing in the 2023/2024 academic year.

GREAT Scholarships 2023 

In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, the University of Plymouth is offering 1 x £10,000 scholarship per country to students in India, Indonesia and Malaysia applying for postgraduate courses in the following eligible subjects:
India: 
MSc Applied Marine Science; MRes Marine Biology; MSc Marine Conservation; MSc Sustainable Environmental Management; MSc Environmental Consultancy; MSc Coastal Engineering; MSc Offshore Renewable Energy; MSc Offshore Renewable Energy Engineering; MSc Climate Science, Policy and Society; MSc Artificial Intelligence; MSc Cyber Security; MSc Data Science and Business Analytics; MSc Health Data Science and Statistics; MSc Autonomous Systems; MSc Cyber Security; MSc Electrical and Electronic Engineering; MSc Robotics; MSc Mechanical Engineering Design; MSc Medical Engineering.
Indonesia and Malaysia: 
MSc Applied Marine Science; MRes Marine Biology; MSc Marine Conservation; MSc Sustainable Environmental Management; MSc Environmental Consultancy; MSc Coastal Engineering; MSc Offshore Renewable Energy; MSc Offshore Renewable Energy Engineering; MSc Climate Science, Policy and Society.
Applications open on 24 October 2022 and close on 31 May 2023.  Applications received after this date will not be considered.
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship at the University of Plymouth you must:
  • be a passport holder of one of the eligible countries listed above;
  • have an outstanding academic record (e.g. 1st class degree holder or equivalent) – this is determined by our reviewing your transcripts and applying a grade comparison tool from Ecctis;
  • meet our English language requirements for the programme of application;
  • have an unconditional / conditional offer letter from the University of Plymouth for one of the programmes listed above;
  • complete a GREAT Scholarship application form

International Academic Excellence Scholarship


An application must be submitted to be eligible for this scholarship.
Scholarship value: 50% off your tuition fees.
If your postgraduate degree is taught over two years, you may also receive:
  • 50% off the successive year's tuition fee if an overall grade of 70% or above is maintained.

Please be aware that programmes offered by the following schools are not included in the International Academic Excellence Scholarship scheme: Peninsula Dental School; Peninsula Medical School; School of Art, Design and Architecture; School of Biomedical Sciences; School of Health Professions; School of Nursing and Midwifery.
How to apply
Step 1: Download our International Academic Excellence Scholarship application form.
Step 2: Complete application form and prepare the following documents:
a copy of your offer letter
a copy of your final academic transcripts
one or two reference letters from a suitable source to support your application (this must be a separate reference letter that you submitted with your main application of study).
Step 3: Submit your application and supporting documents by emailing as attachments to: international.office@plymouth.ac.uk
The closing date to apply for this scholarship is 30 June for September entry and 30 November for January entry.
 

Plymouth Business School Career Support Scholarship

 An application must be submitted to be eligible for this scholarship.
Scholarship value: £2,500 off your tuition fees.
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must:
  • have outstanding career performance for at least five years – this is determined by your CV and personal statement plus a reference from an employer
  • have an unconditional/conditional offer letter from the University of Plymouth Business School for a Postgraduate Taught Programme
  • complete a scholarship application form.

  • A copy of your offer letter 
  • A copy of your CV and personal statement outlining your career achievements 
  • One or two reference letters from a suitable source supporting your application (this must be a separate reference letter to those submitted with your main study application).

The closing date to apply for this scholarship is 30 June for September entry and 30 November for January entry.
 

Postgraduate Taught International Student Scholarship

Automatically awarded – no need to apply

Scholarship value: £2000 off your tuition fees.

If your postgraduate degree is taught over two years, you may also receive:

  • 10% off the successive year's tuition fee if an overall grade of 60% or above is maintained.

School of Psychology – International Postgraduate Platinum Scholarship

Automatically awarded – no need to apply

Scholarship value: £4000 off your tuition fees in year one.

This scholarship is available to international students who have met the conditions of their University of Plymouth offer of study for the following programmes:

Postgraduate tuition fee discount for University of Plymouth graduates

Automatically awarded – no need to apply
If you studied your undergraduate degree at Plymouth, you may be eligible for a fee discount if you complete your postgraduate studies here as well.

International Partner Scholarship

If you are currently studying at an institution which has a partnership agreement with the University of Plymouth, you could be eligible for an International Partner Scholarship if you progress from a partner college to the University of Plymouth.
