Support with your application

If you are waiting for a decision

There are several reasons why you might not have received a decision yet:
  • an Admissions Officer or Tutor may still be assessing your application
  • we may be processing additional documents you have supplied
  • we may have emailed you to ask for more information
Check your inbox, spam and junk folders in case you have missed a message from us. We aim to make a decision on every application within 10 to 14 working days.

Check for updates

If you applied through UCAS, updates to your application will appear in UCAS Hub.
If you applied directly to the University, we will send updates by email.
If you applied from outside the UK through an international agent, contact your agent for an update.
If you have been waiting for more than 14 working days, email applications@plymouth.ac.uk

If you have a conditional offer

Remember to accept your offer if you have not already done so.
Your offer may be conditional because:
  • you are waiting for academic results, such as GCSEs, BTECs or Access course results
  • your Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) or Occupational Health assessment is incomplete or has not yet been processed
  • you have other outstanding conditions to meet
Your place cannot be confirmed until you have met all the conditions of your offer.
Check the applicant portal to:
  • read communications from the University
  • complete outstanding application tasks
  • contact the Admissions team

If you have an unconditional offer

Remember to accept your offer if you have not already done so.
We will send you more information to help you prepare for the start of your course.
In the meantime, check the applicant portal to:
  • read communications from the University
  • complete outstanding application tasks
  • contact the Admissions team

If your application was unsuccessful

You should have received a message explaining the outcome of your application. Check your email, the applicant portal or UCAS Hub for further information.
An unsuccessful decision does not necessarily mean the end of your options. Depending on your circumstances, you may be able to:
  • consider an alternative course
  • apply again for a future year of entry
  • explore other available routes into your chosen subject
  • contact the Admissions team through the applicant portal if you need clarification about the decision

If you cannot access the applicant portal

Try these steps:
  1. Use the standard username and password fields on the portal page. Do not select Single Sign On (SSO).
  2. Close any other applicant portal tabs or windows.
  3. Clear your browser cache and try again.
  4. Check that you are using the email address you registered with as your username.
  5. Select Forgotten your password? to reset your password.
Wait at least 20 minutes after your last login attempt before resetting your password. A password reset may temporarily lock your account for 15 minutes. During this time, you will not be able to sign in or reset your password again.
If you still cannot log in, email admissions@plymouth.ac.uk and include:
  • your full name
  • your email address
  • your Student Reference Number (SRN)
You can find your SRN in University communications. It is also shown in the My Profile section of the applicant portal if you can access your account.
