Emily Pinn is the 2026/27 President for the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Business at the University of Plymouth Students’ Union. Having completed both her undergraduate and masters degrees in education, she is extremely passionate about social justice and inclusion within educational landscapes. During her time as a student, she has been an active member of the Students’ Union, working part-time in the Communities team alongside her studies, as well as founding the Women’s Health and Wellbeing Society in 2025.
She has a wealth of research experience, and has worked on various projects across the University, including exploring the experiences of commuter students, which has resulted in several published papers, and a 10-day internship addressing the support needs of students experiencing the menopause. Her award-winning undergraduate dissertation examined the lived experiences of students who have a sibling with a life-limiting condition, and is currently in the process of being published. Her masters thesis focusses upon the impact that menstrual literacy can have upon young people’s experience of university.
