Your Information Specialist (Librarian) can show you how to find resources and assess what is quality, relevant information, covering topics such as:

  • finding books and e-books
  • finding journal articles
  • using newspapers and magazines
  • getting to know databases and journals
  • internet searches
  • specialist resources.

Students and staff can arrange a meeting with their Information Specialist via zoom or email. 

Supporting teaching and learning

Working in partnership with faculties, schools and programme teams Information specialists:

  • select and organise material for library collections (both physical and electronic)
  • facilitate the use of information management tools
  • support the development of information literacy skills.

Teaching

The Information specialists are here to help and support teaching, including:

  • Advice and support on use of library services & collections.
  • Working with students and staff to develop their information literacy.
  • Training sessions in the Leganto Reading List system and EndNote reference management.
  • Advice and support with Open Access Research and Copyright.
  • Managing the library collections, both physical and electronic in collaboration with academic staff.
