Support for disabled students

If you are disabled, neurodivergent, have a long-term health condition, mental health condition, sensory or physical impairment, or specific learning difference, we encourage you to share this information with us. This helps us provide information, advice and guidance about support that may be relevant to your studies.
Examples may include:
  •  ADHD
  •  autism
  • dyslexia, dyspraxia and other specific learning differences
  • mental health conditions
  • sensory impairments
  • physical impairments
  • long-term health conditions, such as asthma, diabetes, cancer, HIV or chronic fatigue syndrome.
If you are unsure whether the term disabled applies to you, you can still contact us for advice.

Tell us about your disability

You can share information about an impairment, health condition or disability when you apply to study at the University, or at any point during your studies.
Doing this as early as possible allows more time for advice, guidance and support arrangements to be considered where appropriate.

Support for your studies

Whether or not you have received support before, we can provide information, advice and guidance about:
  • reasonable adjustments
  • teaching, learning and assessment
  • exam provisions
  • Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA)
  • support available through the University
The support or reasonable adjustments available will depend on your individual circumstances, your course and how your disability, health condition or difference affects your studies.
