Experienced analytical chemist with knowledge of a wide range of analytical and sample preparation techniques gained in both industry and research settings.
In my current role I am the senior technician for the exercise nutrition and health laboratories. I support teaching and research in a wide range of laboratories:
Analytical chemistry laboratory - proximate analysis of food (lipids, protein, moisture, ash, metals, fibre, bomb calorimetry). Measurement of physical properties and various assays for determination of vitamins, antioxidant capacity etc.
Exercise laboratory - breath by breath analysis for maximal and submaximal exercise testing.
Product development laboratory - food technology laboratory for product development, and sensory analysis.
CL2 laboratory and phlebotomy laboratory - blood taking capability with analysis of blood and saliva samples.
