I have always lived in Cornwall and trained as a Registered General Nurse at the Royal Cornwall School of Nursing (Truro). I went on to obtain my BSc (Hons) in Health Studies with Plymouth University.

My clinical practice has primarily been within the community, general practice and strategic nursing. I have experience as a Community nurse, a General practice nurse (GPN), a Non-medical prescribing minor illness nurse and an Urgent care matron. Alongside my University post, I also work as a Strategic practice nurse lead for NHS Kernow.

In 2017, I was awarded the title of Queen's Nurse, in recognition of commitment to high standards of patient care and continually improving practice
