Teaching interests

I hold a PGCE , PGCAP 700 and really enjoyed the GTA  experience. I lectured for 11 years on both BA Hons Applied Arts and BA Hons Contemporary Craft Degrees . I was Acting Head Of Programm BA Hons Spatial Design for one year.

I delivered Specialist , bespoke and guest invited programmes under Iron Arts , the business I founded to deliver a range of Fine Art, Blacksmith craft , design and solution development packages to a range of clients and invited guests. Including Devon Rural Crafts, Dartmoor Arts, Schools and Colleges in Devon and Cornwall, independent crafts providers such as The Old Kennels at Dunkerswell, Carpenter Oak, and Sticklepath Museum, one of the last remaining water powered forges and tilt hammers .

My teaching philosophy was always to engage people in learning , absorbing skills and knowledge to use in the reflection of their own solutions and outcomes. Work of a high order needs a wide range of skills , knowledge, solutions and tactics - never grown overnight, but are fun to try !
